Sarah currently lives in Applecross, West Scotland and has exhibited nationally and internationally and is  regular contributor to Craft Scotland. Pick up this limited edition set of laser cut decorations depicting the 12 Days of Christmas by Norwich based artist Ruth Howes. Ruth studied Fine Art, specialising in sculpture and over the years has shifted to painting and illustration in her work. All her work has the paper cutting process at its heart.

CUTTING EDGE ART ARRIVES AT THE STABLES, HOUGHTON HALL THIS SUMMER

Both JONI SMITH and RUTH HOWES use paper cutting in their art. Each of them is being showcased in FESTIVAL 2019, our pop up showcase at Houghton Hall this summer. Original hand cut artworks feature heavily in their work each looking at mapping investigating scales, perceptions and associations.

Joni Smith is one of six women artists we are showcasing at Creake Abbey (August 10-23) entitled "Ordinary Worlds". This is an exhibition of six women artists who share a common interest in representing landscape and interpreting the topographic in their work – each artist shows how we might compose landscape to suit our outlook rather than merely reflect upon a visual likeness or land use.
